Another busy vacay day!
Today I traveled to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for a day packed with super intense rides, movie memorabilia everywhere, and lots of 3D glasses. I wasn't sure by the end of the day what was real and what was being projected!
Our first "ride" wound up being something similar to yesterday's- not too over the top and just enough to ease us into getting started for the day. We visited the Shrek ride which consisted of a seated audience in front of a stage, and of course, (the accessory of the day) 3D glasses! I don't think there's ever been a time where I've been sneezed on more than I did today. 😉
But.. What up with no geotag on snapchat for this park?!? That is not gunna fly in my book. Add me on snapchat if you haven't already! manderz343
Also theme of the vacation so far: completely unintentionally stumbling into random places or events we had no idea were even a thing, and running with it. My big tip for you when traveling with friends: have a generally set plan but be ready to roll with things for a little bit of time.
Sorry it's all darkish, but that's us trying out some butterbeer in this new Harry Potter part of Universal that isn't on the Harry Potter world side. It was just Diagon Alley, but I loved it! It's cool seeing all the shops come to life and pretend you're actually a student at Hogwarts. Mavis didn't even know this gem excited, and it was a fun little precursor to the real thing!
Butterbeer: A creamy, caramel-like drink and delicious ordered "frozen."
I tried my first butterbeer today and lemmie tell you, it was wonderful. I wish they sold these out of the regular slushie machines on campus. But I guess that wouldn't make them as special and cool. Still, so so good.
To stay in the Hogwarts spirit, we rode the train from platform 9 3/4 over to the real deal big Harry Potter world.
After a bunch of fast, spinny rides, which actually made us dizzy in the end (god we're old) we of course had to meet a few characters on our way out.
I really wished we could have had time to do the actual minion ride, but hey another reason to go back another weekend!
Right after that picture was taken we also stumbled into yet another random dance party. Fun things seem to just follow us 💁
I'm really proud that we've spent the past two days at parks doing absolutely everything we could think of. I have the feeling i'll keep having to go back into these blogs and add in more things we go to doing since there's been soooo much! I ain't even mad.
As always, see you tomorrow!
XO
Amanda
