I had to make today's title a classic rock song lyric, since I COMPLETELY forgot to mention that on Sunday I Facetimed with my parents and brother (they all love The Doors)!
My dog was utterly confused at where the heck my voice was coming from.
But of course, I still love her more than any animal ever, and me and my brother chatted for a while before I went off to Zumba class with Mavis.
To reference the song lyric title though - no, I did not walk up to some rando and tell them I love them.
It actually has to do with not knowing someone's name who was giving ME all the loveableness. But more about that later.
If you couldn't tell, today's post is going to be all over the place. I apologize.
No pictures of food today, unfortunately, because I literally cannot even stomach it. Also more on that later.
But to start the day off, on Monday I checked my Snapchat for the news and for the rest of the Grammy updates I missed. While checking through my faves, I came across two YA books that I might be interested in looking into. If you've heard anything about these two, let a girl know!
I chose these two out of the list of five, because they were compared to John Green's books, and I am definitely a fan of his work. I'm trying to increase my book list for the big spring break trip coming up (in just a month!) for the plane ride and maybe even just relaxing poolside with a cold drink in my hand. We shall see!
Fast-forward to my second class of the day, where I thankfully did not get randomly called on like many peers were that day. I was on top of my game though, I came super prepared with extra notes and questions next to every paragraph in our articles. My problem was - I couldn't stop sneezing.
Second problem: not being able to breathe halfway through class. Why?
BECAUSE BOSTON UNIVERSITY THAT'S WHY.
They emailed me asking me to come and interview on campus! Pinch me, because I doubt I'm alive.
Liz and I were both uncontrollably shaking in lecture together! I could not even type on my teeny tiny little iPad.
I had to check four times to make sure the email was addressed to me. Indeed, it was. But the fact of the matter was that they had wanted to get to know me better. I am beyond excited to get to know them.
So that was basically the highlight of my day, because when I came home... it was ALLLLL downhill from there.
I wasn't feeling totally hot, but I figured eating a salad and taking some cold medicine would be okay to do before my long night ahead of meetings. Boy was I wrong.
The salad I spend $10 on? Ended up barely making it even down to my stomach, because halfway through, I was not feeling good at all.
Literally in a matter of seconds, yes seconds, I felt sick, got up, ran up, and all the salad came right back up. No fun at all.
I was in bed at 7:30 like a grandma, and slept until 9am.
I don't know what the heck happened! I never want to feel like that again. Sorry amazing salad restaurant, you're not getting a visit from me anytime soon.
The best part about all this was, that the second my roommate Mavis found out I was super sick, she tweeted to her followers telling them to wish me well. The amount of love I have for that girl is too much to put into words! In minutes I was getting tweets from people I've never even met, and some that I have, telling me to feel better.
That's the beauty of the internet. While you have your friends you see in person all the time making you happy, so can people from across the world who you may have never interacted with before had it not been for the internet connecting all of us. Thank you to everyone who was so nice to me, you made my night! I appreciate all the love, even though I don't know your names.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's shenanigans (yes, I did survive it to the next day!).
Ta ta for now babes!
XO
Amanda
